Lightbulb solo pking

i think if they added solo pking in a arena that could hold more ppl would be a lot more fun. i hate how if u dont got a monk and other team does u lose or if one person is a noob on your team..... also i think there should be stakes in the game where u lose a random iteam or something it would give pvp a more lvling feel then being almost as buff az u frist logg in as some one that beat the game with al the skills. u just dont get adrenalin when u fight with nothing at stake

I'm not being rude, honestly, but that made no sense.

I assume you mean you'd like a "free for all" / "deathmatch" type "every man for himself" arena?

That'd be a bad idea, because Guild Wars is supposed to encourage team play.

I'd like to see something vaguely similar - the opportunity for a 1 on 1 duel a la WoW. Mostly because I'm a lousy PvP'er myself and would like the chance just to practice some tactics with some people I knew were good mates to get my experience up. I think similar stuff can happen in guild halls but I don't know anything about that really and my guild is a little way off gunning for that yet :P

It would fail...miserably. Lineage II happens when you do that. I know, I been there, done that, got the blood pressure rising to prove it. To hell with that

Just because guild wars encourages team play doesn't mean there shouldn't be 1v1.

I think it would be fun but it would be horribly inbalanced because a warrior primary would beat just about any other class 1 on 1 (usually).

They would have to find some way to balance it.

1 v 1 arenas and massive free for all arenas would just get camped, maybe the 1v1 wouldnt be a bad idea, but I can see it now, a bunch of bored school skippers meeting each other in the free for all arena and going around killing every new entrant to the words 'i pwnz0red j00'

Fortunately/Unfortunately (depending how you look at it) the game is based around the skill of the player, therefore it is possible to start a PvP character from level 20 without having a clue about the game. Maybe the devs should consider 'rankings' for new PvP characters, maybe allowing new players to start at 'level 5 only' to begin with, and reduced available skills. This would allow new players to 'get their feet wet' without being annihilated by more experienced players. Then progressing thru lev10, 15, 20 respectively. I'm not saying this should replace the current way of PvP character setup, but as an additional option for new players. New players could then join a PvP session safe in the knowledge that they are playing against lower level characters. Or even a tutorial section for PvP with bots to train with. Just a suggestion.

Wasn't there a suggestion to add an area to your Guild Hall where u can fight against a team out of ur own guild? I think that would solve the Problem.

It seems like ArenaNet is keeping out 1v1 intentionally, because then you get people crying out like babies that their class couldn't beat another class in a 1v1 duel, when in actuality it only matters as a team. I hope they keep it this way.

Make a free for all arena, make it so your guild capes go away, make it so you only see the players class/level above there name. That would be fun. In a "Gladiator" arena type setting.
